Altus man held on $100k bond after Erick arrest

A 30-year-old Altus man is being held on a $100,000 bond in the Beckham County Detention Center after Erick Police say he strangled a woman inside an Erick hotel.

At approximately 4 pm on October 26, Erick Police received a dispatch from the Beckham County Sheriff’s Department concerning domestic abuse at the Motel 6.

Due to radio issues, the responding officer was unaware if the male subject, Paul Louis Flores, was carrying a weapon.

Flores told the officer that the disagreement began after the alleged victim had messaged his boss about drugs.

Flores claimed that he had left the motel room, but then came back in an attempt to get his belongings. At that point, he said that the situation grew worse.

Flores accused the alleged victim of swinging and punching him, showing the officer that his nose was bleeding.

Flores said that he then called police because he knows how “this” normally happens and he always goes to jail.

The responding officer then went outside to speak with the reported victim, who was being treated for a minor puncture wound on her left arm, as well as several scrapes upon her neck and knees.

The victim told the officer that she had discovered a digital scale...
