Hi-Speed chase leads to Drug Distribution, Child Endangerment charges
A 42-year-old Ponca City man and a 36-year-old Elk City woman remain behind bars at the Beckham County Detention for multiple felonies after drugs and a 15-year-old child were discovered in a car following a high speed chase with the Elk City Police.
At approximately 10:00 pm on March 6, an ECPD officer was on routine stationary patrol in the area of the 2600 block of East Highway 66. During this time, the officer was focusing his attention on a nearby motel due to “the high level of illegal drug activity that takes places in that area,” according to the probable cause affidavit.
While observing the motel, a small four-door car entered the parking lot and parked in a parking space located on the north side of the building.
A female passenger out of out the var and entered the motel through the main entrance.
Some time later, the officer noted that the female passenger walked out of the motel and got back into the car.
